Week 14 (Semester 2) : Presentation

after finish my final year project, the presentation have been done by week 14. the machine is shown and be tasted in front of assessor.below are the poster and the final look of my Plastic Bottle Shredder Machine.

Week 13 (Semester 2): Finishing

the final look of my project is shown below.

after finishing constructed the machine, the result have been taken.

Result

the result of the plastic bottle shredder machine is shown as above.the plastic bottle is shred into a small part compare to the normal size of the plastic bottle. as we can see, the bottle also be squashed to flat and some of the plastic bottle part is shred.

Week 12 (Semester 2): Final prototype

the final method is constructed and been adjust for the best result. this are some of the works or result of construction of this machine :

the heavy duty induction motor will drive the metal blade by using wheel and axle method and timing belt. 

this roller is used to rotate the blade inside the box to crush the plastic bottle.

bearing is used to give the smoothest rotation to the blade.

Week 11 (Semester 2) : New method

the design of new blade

after the failure, i have to make a lot of changes to this machine to make it works. the  new method have been found to shred the plastic bottle. by using the rotation blade produces using titanium will make the plastic bottle can cut into small pieces. to make this blade function it will take a lot of time because too much procedure have to take in action to avoid another failure

Week 10 (Semester 2) : Failure

the final part is mount to the project and be tested.

this kind of method have bring failure to this machine. the plastic bottle cannot be shred by using this method due to the hardness of the plastic bottle itself. as we know, plastic bottle are organic polymeric materials consisting of giant organic molecules. so it hard to cut or shred the plastic bottle due to his physical condition. the task was failed because when the grass cutter blade hit the plastic bottle to cut it, the grass cutter blade cannot cut the plastic bottle and the force given by the induction motor make the grass cutter blade force itself to cut it and at last the grass cutter blade is crooked and hit the body of part A and everything is disintegrate. the result of this kind of method is a failure.

Week 9 (Semester 2) : continuous project

Week 8 (Semester 2) : Project drawing

i will explain the process of this machine. This plastic bottle shredder machine is used to shred the plastic bottle into tiny part. this is my idea how to build the project. the body with blade will force the plastic bottle to go down slowly and at the end of the part A the bottle will be cut with the grass cutter blade in part B with the speed of 1500rpm. but to make the position of part A and B in center is very difficult because it will take a lot of time and a good measurement without 0 error to make that thing precise.

Week 7 (Semester 2) : Project progress

the project is still under process and it may have take time up to 2 or 3 month to finish this project if there no failure during the construction.below are some of the parts and things that will be used in my fyp project

using power window motor (proton car) and have mounted the motorcycle timing chain sprocket  to the motor

Grass cutter blade is used to mount to the heavy duty single phase induction motor shaft.
the blade is added with strong metal to make the blade hard to bend

wood grinder blade is used to force the plastic bottle.the grinder blade is  weld to the  iron that will become shaft

Week 6 (Semester 2) : Project construction

after the final drawing have been analyze and agreed by my supervisor, the project is star to be constructed. the item that have been purchased will be fixed to the project. the item like grinder, drill, welding machine are be used to make this project happen

week 5 (semester 2) : Item Purchased

i have bought some item for my final year project. the item will be update soon.because i have to do a little experiment to the item before confirmation to used it

Week 4 ( Semester 2) : Final Drawing Rejected

after showed my final drawing to my advisor, the drawing has been rejected..the blade that i used is not reliable to shred the plastic bottle..after having a discussion with my advisor, he advice and recommend me to used the method that have in scissors.i have to try and error about the blade that have been discuss with my advisor.

Week 1 (Semester 2) : Example of plastic shredder machine

There are some example of plastic bottle shredder machine that have been build. but its all in a heavy shredder mode. my machine will not be this bigger but i`ve take some of the idea to make my fyp project.

Week 9 : Findings

My advisor has find an old paper shredder machine.it have to be maintenance back to reused it.dont know yet either its still can used after the maintenance.the machine can complete the part of my project because i`ve to shred the plastic bottle

Week 8 : Continue Project Drawing & Chapter 1

the sketch of the machine is still under progress.and within the same time, i have doing some of the Chapter 1 :Introduction for the final report fyp sem 1.but its all still under progress.it will be update when fully chapter 1 is finish

Week 7 : Project Drawing

by using the software Google Sketch Up, i`ve try to do the sketch according to the machine original scale. but it take`s a long time to finish it. because there is certain part that need to take a time to consider it.so the drawing is still under progress
